Tim Davis was born in Chicago Illinois and is recognized as an artist, curator and educator. He is a mixed media painter working primarily with narratives on social justice, activism, identity and the black experience.

My focus has been to create themes that represent interactions and relationships between stylized figures, and portraits in real and sometimes unreal and juxtaposed environments. In my Plexiglass and canvas paintings, my intention is to create a spontaneous, free use of lines, shapes, patterns of colors so you see and feel the painting. While I am planning the composition, I rely on intuitive thoughts and spirits not always concerned with a straight line or if it’s correct in proportions. The layers of color, shapes, forms and materials are most important to my visual and narrative statements.
